Operating procedures include pre-start inspections, mold installation, no-load startup and material feeding, the actual rolling/compaction phase, and demolding. Before starting, check all drive connections to ensure they are in proper working order. During mold installation, remove the locating pin, pull the movable gantry outward, and rotate it 90 degrees to free the suspended roller shaft. Use an overhead crane to lift the pipe mold and slide it onto the shaft; then, close the gantry and reinsert the locating pin so that the inner rims of the mold's end rings rest against the suspended roller shaft. Next, start the variable-speed motor to spin the mold via the shaft; once normal operation is confirmed, activate the feeder or manually add material evenly into the mold. Control the feed quantity so that the compacted concrete extends 2–3 mm beyond the thickness of the end rings. After feeding, proceed to the rolling/compaction stage, where the suspended roller shaft repeatedly rolls and compacts the concrete against the pipe wall. This phase typically lasts 1–4 minutes. Mold rotation speeds vary by pipe diameter: for example, 140–230 rpm for diameters under 500 mm, and 100–200 rpm for diameters between 600 mm and 900 mm. After forming, use the overhead crane to lift the mold and disengage it from the suspended roller shaft. Open the gantry to remove the mold and transport it to the curing area, taking protective measures during demolding to prevent damage to the pipe body.
Key safety points include: strictly prohibiting personnel from standing on either side of the suspended roller shaft while the machine is running; adjusting speed smoothly and gradually rather than jumping directly to the target speed; ensuring even manual feeding to prevent mold bouncing caused by uneven material distribution; strictly prohibiting equipment overload or the production of pipe types outside specified limits; prohibiting maintenance while the machine is in operation; and ensuring operators are trained and fully familiar with the operating procedures.
